Pro Bono Club & Legal Aid Centre, Law College Dehradun, Faculty of Uttaranchal University in Collaboration with Uttarakhand Police organized a Mega Legal Awareness Drive on 30 September 2023, comprising of Foot March & Nukkad Natak based on the theme “Say no to Drugs” as a mark of one year of establishment of Pro Bono Club in the University.
The event was initiated in the august presence of Station House Officer (SHO) Premnagar, Dehradun and Pro Vice-ChancellorVice Dean, Law College Dehradun; Nodal Officer, Pro Bono Club Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna. It commenced with a Nukkad Natak performed on the roadside of Premnagar, Dehradun consisting of around 25 police officers of Premnagar Police Station along with 50 Pro Bono Associates and local men around. The Nukkad Natak was based on the “Say no to Drugs” theme. The artists beautifully explained the public about the harmful effects and causes of consuming drugs and liquor.
Further, a Foot March on the theme “Drug Addiction Awareness” was started in the presence of authorities who went through some main and busiest spots of the City. The March commenced from Premnagar and covered places like Premnagar Temple, Dusshera ground, Takeru road, Mahima enclave, Kheri Gaon and finally came to an end at Uttaranchal University. The march left an impactful mark on the mindset of people around.
