The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) and Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India in collaboration with Law College, Dehradun faculty of Uttaranchal University under the aegis of Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), organised a Guest Lecture on 'An Initiative to Create Awareness of Transgender Rights' on 15 March 2023. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University was the eminent Speaker, and Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean, UIPS. Dr. Tarun Parashar, HoD, UIPS coordinated the event. The guest lecture highlighted the Rights of the third gender and the vital role played by them in our society and speak about the need for sensitizing students to understand the pulse of society.
