The School of Liberal Arts, Uttaranchal University in collaboration with Officers Academy organized ‘An Interactive Talk for Civil Services Aspirants’ on 15th March 2023. The event was graced by the presence of Chancellor of the university, Shri Jitender Joshi, Eminent Guests namely, Sri Manoj Goyal (IAS) Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun Uttarakhand, and Sri Akshay Prahlad Konde (IPS), S.P. Traffic, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The session was moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar Dean, School of Liberal Arts & DSW.
The event aimed at encouraging the students to develop their own unique strategies while preparing for any competitive exams. Mr. Abhishek Tripathi from Officers Academy addressed the gathering with a welcome speech. He highlighted the initiative the college has undertaken to impart civil service coaching to university students.
The lively interactive session with IAS and IPS officers gave the students a platform where they were able to directly inquire about the different ways by which they can prepare for civil services or any other competitive exam. A large number of students from various Schools/Colleges of the University participated in the session. The students asked various questions regarding preparation, balance between studies and distraction, strategies and how to overcome failure. Both speakers advised students that self-motivation and self-discipline can enable students to clear the UPSC or any other competitive exams. Self-discipline can keep a person stay motivated to pave their way towards success.
The Chancellor, Sri Jitender Joshi felicitated the guests with mementos. The entire program was initiated and coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar, Dean, School of Liberal Arts. Ms Apoorva Uniyal, Assistant Professor, School of Liberal Arts concluded the session with a vote of thanks.
