A three-day Skill Development Programme on “Revit Structure Software" was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering from March 15 to 17, 2023. The workshop was moderated by Mr. Awadhesh Chandramauli, Head of Department, Civil Engineering. The Speaker of the workshop was Mr. Jitendra Kumar, Software Trainer, CADD Centre, Dehradun. The workshop was successfully organized by Mr. Gaurav Thakur, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering with great zeal. Prof. (Dr.) S.D. Pandey, Dean-UIT, motivated the students before the commencement of the workshop and ignited the passion to learn and excel.
Autodesk Revit is building information modelling software tool for architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers, designers, and contractors. This workshop imparted knowledge about the software and the students gained information in relevant concepts of the software while developing an in-depth knowledge of the applications of the software. The students learnt the concepts of the software on the first day and learnt to draw the basic structural elements of a building. On the second day, the students implemented the software to prepare a building structure model. The last day of the workshop was followed by the continuation of the modelling and applications of software to the real-world building construction works.
The workshop provided a very useful platform to gain information and to have an insight into the Revit Structure software. The lesson inspired the students to investigate the potential applications of the programme while its benefits and uses for a range of intricate building projects.
