A one-week workshop on IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) and Patents Writing was organized by the Department of Mathematics, School of Applied and Life Sciences in Research and Innovation cell, Uttaranchal University Dehradun, from 27th February to 5th March 2023. The workshop aimed to provide participants with an understanding of the basics of IPR and patent writing. This workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, and Prof Ajay Singh, Dean-SALS, Uttaranchal University. The workshop was organized for B Sc (H) Mathematics and M Sc Mathematics students, in which 120 participants actively participated. The workshop was conducted by a team of experienced resource persons from the IPR Cell at Uttaranchal University, Dehradun. The resource persons were well-known experts in the field of IPR and patent writing and had many years of experience in their respective fields. The workshop was structured to cover a wide range of topics related to IPR and patent writing. The workshop was highly successful in achieving its objectives. The participants gained a deeper understanding of the basics of IPR and patent writing. They were able to appreciate the significance of patents in promoting innovation and technology transfer. The participants also acquired the skills to write and file patent applications. They wrote 90 patents for the publications. The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the excellent quality of the resource persons and the workshop content. This event was coordinated by Prof V K Srivastava and Dr Vikas Kumar, Department of Mathematics, School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University Dehradun.
