The Department of Mechanical Engineering-Uttaranchal University observed “National Small Industry Day” on 30 August 2022. National Small Industry Day 2022 is observed in India every year on 30 August to encourage and shape government policies to enhance the efficiency of the small-scale sector. The advent of the National Small Scale Industry Day can be traced back to August 2000 when the Government of India formulated a comprehensive policy package for the small-scale industries in the country. On this occasion, a poster presentation was organized by the Mechanical Engineering Department.
The inauguration of the event took place at the Mechanical Engineering Department UIT. The event started with the welcome remark of the event coordinator Mr Saurabh Aggarwal, Assistant Professor, ME-UIT. Prof (Dr) S D Pandey, Dean-UIT graced the event with his presence and shared his valuable insights and information on government policies and platforms for the students to start their ventures.
The Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi encouraged the students by sending his best wishes to students and the entire Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department for organizing such an event. Dr Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HOD-ME, addressed the gathering with his encouraging words for organizing such an event and addressed gathering in his address he said the government has been working hard to support the ecosystem since Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises constitute a crucial link in the growth and development of any country.
Dr Shushant Singh, Assistant Professor, ME-UIT also shared his opinion on National Small Industry Day. During the activity, all the faculty members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering were present to grace the event. The coordinators of the event were Mr Saurabh Aggarwal and Mr Vivek John.
