Dehradun, 22 August 2026: Uttaranchal University participated in the Uttarakhand NEP Conclave 2026, hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, which brought together the leadership of Uttarakhand's higher education ecosystem to deliberate on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The prestigious conclave was graced by Hon'ble Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Minister of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand; Prof. K. K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee; and Dr. BVRC Purushottam, Secretary, Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand. The event witnessed the presence of Vice-Chancellors of Government, Central and Private Universities, Principals and Heads of State Higher Education Institutions, senior academic leaders, and officials from the Higher Education Department and the Education Ministry of Uttarakhand.
The deliberations centered on translating the vision of NEP 2020 into actionable institutional strategies, with key focus areas including multidisciplinary and flexible education, research and innovation, industry-academia collaboration, faculty development, mentoring, internationalization, digital learning, and technology-enabled academic transformation. The conclave served as an important platform for fostering collaboration and developing a shared roadmap for strengthening higher education across the state.
The programme was coordinated under the leadership of Prof. N. K. Navani, Dean (Academics), IIT Roorkee, with significant contributions from Prof. Falguni Pattanaik, Prof. Meenakshi Rawat, and Prof. Sandeep Bhatt in organizing the academic sessions and institutional discussions.
Uttaranchal University was represented by Er. Rajesh Deorari, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), on behalf of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dharam Buddhi. During the conclave, he participated in discussions on quality assurance, academic excellence, institutional mentoring, and the strategic implementation of NEP 2020 within higher education institutions.
