Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organized a Special Career Talk on 7 August 2026, aimed at providing students with valuable industry perspectives on career planning, professional growth, and readiness for the corporate world.
The inaugural session commenced with lamp-lighting followed by warm welcome and felicitations to the Guest Speaker, Ms. Sheetal Jerath Sharma, Director, Grant Thornton Bharat LLP, by Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Uttaranchal University and Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM. In his opening remarks, Prof. Suri highlighted the importance of exposing students to real-world industry perspectives early in their academic journey, and thanked Ms. Sharma for taking the time to interact with the students.
The event witnessed the graceful presence of Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, UU and Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice Chancellor, UU. They graced the event with their inspiring words.
Delivering the special talk, Ms. Sheetal Jerath Sharma shared her professional journey and offered practical guidance on building a successful career in the professional consulting service industry. She spoke about the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and integrity in the workplace, and encouraged students to focus on developing strong analytical and communication skills. She further shared useful tips on interview preparedness, workplace etiquette, and the qualities that organizations look for in young professionals.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round, followed by a vote of thanks proposed by (Prof.) Dr. Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, who reiterated that exposure to industry leaders such as Ms. Sharma goes a long way in shaping the career outlook of students.
