As technology evolves, so do the threats that accompany it—making cybersecurity one of the most critical and promising career domains in the AI era. Adding another dimension to the Deeksharambh 2026 journey, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University organized an insightful Expert Talk on “The Importance of a Cybersecurity Career in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” on 12 August 2026 for the students of BCA (Cyber Security Specialization). The expert of the session was Mr. Pradipto Chakrabarty, Regional Director (South Asia), CompTIA.
The event commenced with the felicitation of the resource person by Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS. She highlighted the growing importance of cybersecurity in the AI era and encouraged students to develop technical skills and a future-ready mindset.
Mr. Pradipto shared insights into the evolving cybersecurity landscape, AI-driven cyber threats, and the use of AI for proactive defence. He also highlighted career opportunities in ethical hacking, threat intelligence, risk management, and cybersecurity operations, emphasizing continuous learning and professional certifications. To make the session more engaging, an interactive quiz on cybersecurity and AI was also conducted, with students actively participating and demonstrating their knowledge. The enthusiastic participants were encouraged with goodies presented by the expert, adding an engaging and memorable element to the session.
The successful conduct of the session was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the organizing team under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS, and coordinated by Mr. Sanjay Mishra, Mr. Nitin Sharma, Ms. Manisha Saini, and Ms. Manisha Khanduja, with the able support of enthusiastic student volunteers.
