School of Agriculture (SOA), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, organised a motivational session on “Career Quest: Aspire & Achieve” on 12th August, 2026, as part of Deeksharambh 2026. The session was organised for first-year UG and PG students to guide them on career planning and the opportunities available during their university journey.
Mr. Iqbal Singh Sawhney, Director, Corporate Resource Centre (CRC), Uttaranchal University, addressed the students and spoke about placement opportunities for agriculture students, highlighting companies such as Jubilant Food Works, VNR and Godrej Agrovet that visit the university for placements. He also explained the career options available beyond campus placements, including roles as agronomists, scientists and agriculture officers. He stressed the importance of clear goals, good communication, confidence and developing the right skills, encouraging students to identify their interests and start preparing for their chosen career from the first year.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Prasad, Director, School of Agriculture, also addressed the students and encouraged them to make the most of their time at the university. He said that the university provides students with several opportunities to learn, participate and grow, and encouraged them to take active part in academic and other activities.
The session also focused on identifying one's interests and strengths, developing new skills and preparing early for future career opportunities. Students were encouraged to remain focused on their goals and make the best use of the facilities, guidance and opportunities provided by the university. The session gave first-year students a positive start to their university journey and encouraged them to work towards their goals with confidence and commitment.
