The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Zonal Unit, Dehradun, successfully organized the Anti-Drug Awareness Program – 2026 on 4th August 2026 at the Seminar Hall, UIPS, under the theme “Free Living: Building Drug Free Campus Together.” The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting responsible and healthy lifestyle choices.
The programme featured an expert keynote session by officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau, focusing on the harmful effects and consequences of drug abuse, preventive strategies, and the importance of individual and collective responsibility in building a drug-free society. The event included the welcome and inaugural address, felicitation of the NCB official, expert awareness session, interactive student engagement, and anti-drug awareness pledge.
Approximately 10 faculty members and 150 students from B.Pharm and M.Pharm were proposed to participate in the programme. The students actively engaged in the awareness activities and gained valuable insights into the health, social, and legal consequences associated with drug abuse. The programme successfully promoted awareness regarding drug prevention, encouraged students to make informed and responsible lifestyle choices, and emphasized their role in contributing towards a healthy and drug-free campus. The collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau also strengthened the connection between the academic institution and law-enforcement agencies in promoting drug prevention and awareness.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a renewed commitment towards building a responsible, healthy, and drug-free campus community.
