Law College Dehradun inaugurated its Six-Day National Faculty Development Programme on "Innovative Approaches in Legal Education: Technology, Pedagogy and Quality Enhancement" on 20 July 2026. Being conducted in hybrid mode till 25 July 2026, the programme aims to equip educators with contemporary teaching methodologies, digital competencies, and innovative pedagogical practices, aligning legal education with the national vision of Viksit Bharat.
Addressing the gathering, the President of Uttaranchal University, Shri Jitendra Joshi, extended his best wishes for the programme and observed that the true strength of any institution lies in the continuous growth of its teachers. Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dharam Buddhi, emphasized that in an era of Artificial Intelligence and rapid technological change, educators must remain lifelong learners, blending technology with values to realize the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and Viksit Bharat. Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, underlined that legal education must evolve beyond the classroom, and that innovative pedagogy, research integrity, and sensitivity to the learner are the three anchors of a quality legal institution. Welcoming the participants, the Principal, Prof. Poonam Rawat, outlined the objectives and extended gratitude to the resource persons and participants.
The first technical session was delivered by Dr. Puja Jaiswal, Associate Professor of Law and Chief Proctor, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Haryana, on "Managing Holistic Student Well-being and Continuous Mentorship." Highlighting the mounting academic, competitive, and personal pressures on students amid scattered attention across parallel tasks, she urged educators to shift focus decisively towards holistic well-being, resting on five core pillars: academic support, mental health, physical wellness, social connection, and emotional well-being.
