As part of the World Tuberculosis Day 2026 celebrations, Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized an awareness camp for school children under the national theme “Yes! We Can End TB: Led by countries, powered by people" The event aimed to promote awareness about Tuberculosis, the social stigma associated with it, its symptoms, treatment and preventive measures among school students. The camp was conducted at Government Primary School, Paundha, Dehradun. The initiative reflected the social responsibility of pharmacists as health educators and community health promoters.
Verbal communication and powerpoint presentation was given by M. Pharma Pharmacology Students followed by quiz session to the primary school students. Faculty members-Mr. Akash Samanta and student volunteers from M. Pharma, Pharmacology, UIPS, - Mohit Bisht, Astha Thakur, Vikas, Shanvi and Shruti participated in the event.
More than 50 students benefited from the camp. Children gained awareness about hygiene, symptoms and treatment of TB. Pharmacy students gained valuable experience in public health service and community engagement. The school administration appreciated the initiative and encouraged regular collaboration for similar health awareness programs.
