The Corporate Resource Centre (CRC) Club of the Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM) organized a successful industrial visit for its first-year MBA students on February 27, 2026. The students visited the state-of-the-art facility of Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd., located in Selaqui, a leading Indian multinational specializing in contract manufacturing for global brands.
Organized with the continuous support of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, and Prof. (Dr.) Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, this visit reflects the institution's dedication to bridging the gap between academia and the corporate world. The day’s activities were meticulously coordinated by Dr. Bipin Chandra Kandpal, Assistant Professor, UIM, ensuring a seamless and informative experience for all attendees.
During the plant visit, students were granted a rare opportunity to witness the large-scale manufacturing of consumer electronics, including washing machines, air conditioners, and smartphones. This immersive experience went beyond traditional classroom lectures, providing invaluable insights into advanced manufacturing processes, complex supply chain management, and the intricate operational workings of a global corporate environment.
The students’ enthusiasm was palpable as they engaged directly with the company’s technical staff, gaining a holistic understanding of professional standards and corporate life. This hands-on experience serves as a foundational learning milestone that will enrich their academic journey and prepare them for future professional challenges. This initiative stands as a testament to UIM’s commitment to delivering a truly practical and industry-aligned education.
