Uttaranchal College of Nursing, Uttaranchal University, observed World AIDS Day on December 1, 2025, as part of its national celebrations. The initiative aimed to promote awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, early detection, and eliminating stigma associated with the disease.
The programme commenced with an awareness rally led by nursing students, who displayed informative placards and chanted slogans to educate the community on safe practices, responsible behavior, and compassion for people living with HIV/AIDS. The activities aligned with the global theme of World AIDS Day 2025, emphasizing awareness, prevention, and support.
An educational session followed on campus, where students shared key information on HIV transmission modes, preventive measures, and the role of youth in fostering healthy lifestyles. The interactive discussion clarified common misconceptions about HIV/AIDS.
The event enhanced community awareness, honed students’ communication and leadership skills, and reinforced their sense of social responsibility. It was guided by Dr. Midhu Kurian and efficiently coordinated by Ms. Isha, ensuring smooth execution and enthusiastic participation.
This observance underscored the institution’s commitment to public health education, community engagement, and social responsibility, leaving a meaningful impact.
