The 3rd International Conference of Library & Technology on “Artificial Intelligence and Humanities in Library and Education 4.0” (AIHLE-2025) was held on 7-8 November 2025, jointly organized by the Central Library, SLA, and UIT, Uttaranchal University

The event began with the traditional lamp lighting and the University Kulgeet, setting the tone for two days of deliberations. The inaugural ceremony was attended by President Shri Jitender Joshi, VP Ms. Ankita Joshi, VC Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Chief Guest Padma Shri Prof. Harmohinder Singh Bedi (Chancellor, H.P. Central University), Prof. K.P. Singh (Director, Gandhi Bhawan, University of Delhi), Dr. Renecynth B. Jaurigue (Philippines), PVC Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, and several eminent academicians and delegates. The session was moderated by Ms. Malika Payal. 


In his welcome address, Conference Convener and University Librarian Dr. Ramveer Tanwar outlined the conference’s vision of integrating education and technology through AI. Dr. Jaurigue highlighted AI’s growing role in information science; Prof. D. Buddhi emphasized the potential of Education 4.0; and VP Ms. Ankita Joshi accentuated that technology finds true purpose when applied for societal benefit. 


Keynote Speaker Prof. K.P. Singh discussed the integration of libraries with emerging technologies, while Padma Shri Prof. Bedi reflected on the evolution of libraries in the digital era. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Rita Rautela, followed by the National Song marking its 150th anniversary. 


Two major panel discussions- “Ethical and Responsible AI for Sustainable Development” and “AI for Environmental Sustainability”- were held alongside paper presentations. Day 2 continued with presentations and a panel on “AI for Social Equity and Inclusion.” 


At the Valedictory Ceremony, moderated by Ms. Ritu Baluni, Guest of Honour Dr. Nabi Hasan (Librarian, IIT Delhi) addressed the gathering. Prof. Rajiv Kumar Gill presented the Conference Report, noting participation from 400+ delegates across 20 States and multiple countries, with 55 papers published and 80 submitted to internationally indexed platforms. 


Awards presented included: 

Best Library Leadership & Innovation Award- 2025: Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Singh 
Lifetime Achievement Award- 2025: Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) H.S. Bedi 
Best Teacher Award- 2025: Prof. (Dr.) Jaideep Sharma 
Academic Excellence Award- 2025: Prof. (Dr.) M.P. Singh 


The conference concluded with the National Anthem, marking a dignified finale.
