Intra University Football Tournament

 

The two-day Intra-University Football Tournament was successfully organized on 7-8 November 2025 to promote sports culture and encourage student participation in physical activities. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The tournament was inaugurated by University President Sh. Jitender Joshi, Vice President Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dharam Buddhi, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna, UIPS Director Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Sports Head Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, and Deans/Directors/Principals of various departments. They emphasized the importance of sports in student life and encouraged participants to play with discipline and sportsmanship. The opening match set an energetic tone through a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The tournament featured department-wise knock-out matches. The final match between UIM (Uttaranchal Institute of Management) and UIT (Uttaranchal Institute of Technology) attracted a large audience of students and faculty. After an exciting contest, UIM emerged as champions, with UIT as runners-up. 

The tournament concluded successfully, achieving its objectives of promoting fitness, unity, and sportsmanship among students. The well-organized event received positive feedback from participants and spectators, significantly contributing to a vibrant sports culture at the university. Mr. Akhilesh Nautiyal, UIPS Sports Coordinator, and Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, UIPS Director, coordinated the tournament smoothly.
