The School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University, observed World Ozone Day on 17th September 2025 with great zeal and awareness. To mark the occasion, a speech competition was organized on the significance of the ozone layer and the need for its protection.
The program began with inspirational words from Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Prasad, HoD, SOA, who highlighted the critical role of the ozone layer in sustaining life and reminded students of their responsibility toward environmental conservation. This was followed by blessings and motivating remarks from Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Pandey, Director, SOA, who emphasized the relevance of World Ozone Day and formally announced the commencement of the competition.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students, who delivered insightful speeches on ozone layer protection, climate change, and sustainable practices. Their ideas reflected a blend of scientific understanding and social responsibility, making the event both informative and engaging. All the winners and the runner-up were given prizes and certificates in appreciation.
The program was coordinated by the Agri-Eco Club, SOA, under the guidance of Dr. Atin Kumar and Ms. Mansi Nautiyal, with the support of all faculty members of the School of Agriculture.
