The Orientation and Induction Programme (Deeksharambh-2025) at the Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM), Uttaranchal University, commenced on 11 August 2025, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the newly inducted students. On 12 August 2025, a significant event of the programme was held at the Vivekananda Auditorium of Uttaranchal University, where distinguished leaders of the institution shared their vision and guidance with the freshers.
The session was graced by the Shri Jitendra Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University; Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice-President, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor; and Prof. (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor. In their addresses, they collectively outlined the university’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development. They emphasised the importance of upholding values, fostering innovation, and contributing positively to society, thereby inspiring students to become not only skilled professionals but also responsible global citizens.
Adding vibrancy to the programme, students presented engaging cultural performances that highlighted both individual creativity and group synergy. These performances reflected the diverse talents of the student community and created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and celebration.
In addition to the formal inauguration, the orientation programme featured several enriching sessions, including an alumni talk, industry expert interactions, and an informative anti-ragging awareness programme. These activities were thoughtfully designed to integrate students into the university’s dynamic culture, highlight professional opportunities, and underscore the significance of ethical conduct and mutual respect on campus.
The day concluded with a warm and heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr) Shravan Kumar, acknowledging the contributions of dignitaries, faculty members, and students. Overall, the orientation proved to be a meaningful and memorable start, setting a positive and motivating tone for the academic journey ahead.
