Sports Day

The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organised a Sports Day on 11 August 2025 as part of the Student Induction Programme to welcome the new batch of students and promote teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition. The event aimed to introduce students to the athletic culture of the institution and encourage active participation in extracurricular activities. 

It began with a formal inauguration ceremony and a welcome speech by the Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS. Approximately 53 new students participated enthusiastically, showcasing impressive athletic talent and team spirit. Various events were conducted, including Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom, and Tug of War. Winners and runners-up in each event received medals and certificates during the closing ceremony. 

In Table Tennis (Girls), Akriti secured the first position, followed by Anshika in the second position. In Table Tennis (Boys), Gurshaan won the first position, Ayush came second, and Anmol secured the third position. In Chess, Akansha claimed the first position, Krishna stood second, and Srikant took the third position. In Carrom (Girls), Pratima achieved the first position, Tanya secured the second position, and Anushka came third. In Carrom (Boys), Yaikung won the first position, Vibhor came second, and Ritesh secured the third position. The Tug of War (Boys) was won by the team comprising Rahul Kumar, Sanjay, Ashutosh, Yumkham, Vibhore, Shalu, Sahil, Elangbam, Shantanu, Anmol, Priyanshu, Prem, Bhanu, Shivam, Krishna, and Avinav. The Tug of War (Girls) was won by the team consisting of Pallavi, Mahira Praveen, and Anushka. 

The session was coordinated by Mr. Akhilesh Nautiyal, Mr. Abhishek Singh, Assistant Professor, UIPS; Mr. Ved Prakash and Mr. Suraj, Lab Technician, UIPS. The Student Induction Programme Sports Day was a great success, fostering unity and introducing new students to the vibrant extracurricular activities available at the university.
