Uttaranchal University organized a Yoga Session for Fresher’s on 11 August 2026, under the aegis of the 2 ∞ and Beyond Club, School of Applied & Life Sciences (SALS), from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The session was conducted by Dr. Shipra Shah with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic development among newly admitted students.
The session introduced students to various yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices,Surya Namaskar encouraging them to incorporate wellness and balance into their daily lives. The interactive session helped students understand the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being alongside academic growth.
The initiative reflected the vision of NEP SAARTHI by promoting holistic education, experiential learning, and the overall development of students. It also reinforced the objectives of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, encouraging healthy, responsible, and value-oriented individuals committed to positive social and community engagement.
The programme was organized with the valuable guidance and support of Prof. Ajay Singh, Prof. V. K. Srivastava, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma. The session provided the freshers with an engaging and meaningful beginning to their university journey, emphasizing that wellness is an essential foundation for academic success and personal growth.
