The School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, inaugurated its Anti-Ragging Awareness Week with a powerful keynote address by Prof. Ajay Singh, Director of the School of Applied and Life Sciences. He emphasised the psychological, legal, and ethical consequences of ragging and urged students to uphold empathy, dignity, and mutual respect. Framing ragging as a violation of human rights, Prof. Singh set a compelling tone for the week-long initiative.

On this occasion, Mr Yogesh Kumar Awasthi (Member Secretary, Anti-Ragging Committee) also spread awareness about anti-ragging. Prof. V.K. Srivastava (NSS Coordinator) also instructed students about it. On this occasion, a spirited awareness rally was organised across campus by students of Applied and Life Sciences with staff as a collective stand against harassment and ragging. To make more people aware of the anti-ragging campaign, a series of creative events, including an Essay Writing Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, and a Nukkad Natak (street play), were also proposed to be organised during the week on the anti-ragging theme.

On this occasion, more than 200 students were present at the anti-ragging session and rally. Dr Sarda Devi, Dr Riddhima Singh, Dr Rattan Singh, Mr Junaid Aman, Md Kamran and many other faculty members supported the campaign.

On this, SALS showed its strong support for a ragging-free campus by using education, creative activities, and teamwork to promote safety, respect, and a friendly environment for all students.
