The Expressions Literary Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT) organized its Orientation Program on 12th August 2025 in the UIT Seminar Hall with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event aimed to welcome the new members, introduce them to the vibrant culture of the club, and foster a spirit of creativity, camaraderie, and confidence.
The program commenced with the Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and inspiration. This was followed by the Welcome Address by Prof. (Dr.) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT, who warmly greeted the freshers and encouraged them to actively participate in literary and cultural activities to enhance their overall personality.
Dr. Pinki Chugh, Faculty Coordinator of the Literary Club, then took the stage to give a brief introduction to the club, its vision, past achievements, and the range of opportunities it offers to students for honing their creative, communication, and leadership skills.
A highlight of the event was the formal introduction of the new Core Committee members of Expressions, who will be leading the club’s initiatives for the upcoming academic year. This was followed by interactive ice-breaking activities designed to help freshers get comfortable, make new friends, and engage in healthy, creative exchanges.
The orientation was infused with fun and entertainment as quizzes, dance performances, singing sessions, and stand-up comedy acts were presented. In a playful twist, the seniors roast—a lighthearted segment performed by the freshers—had the audience in splits while strengthening the bond between the batches.
The program concluded on a high note with an atmosphere of joy, inspiration, and anticipation for the exciting events the Literary Club will host in the coming year.
