On 22 August 2025, the Women Cell of Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS), Uttaranchal University, organised an enlightening session on Gender Sensitisation and Equality in association with Shri Nityananda Swami Jan Sewa Samiti. 

The programme was graced by esteemed dignitaries — Chief Guest Dr Geeta Khanna, Chairperson, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Uttarakhand; Prof. (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof. (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof. (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS; Sh Vinayak Sharma Swami, President, JAI Youth Wing, Shri Nityananda Swami Jan Sewa Samiti; and Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS. 

In her address, Dr Geeta Khanna emphasised the importance of breaking gender stereotypes, ensuring equal opportunities, and fostering a culture of dignity and respect for all individuals. She further highlighted the vital role that educational institutions play in shaping a more equitable and progressive society. She also stressed the need for collaborative efforts between faculty, students, and administrative bodies to create an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, feels empowered and valued. 

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, who actively engaged in the discussions and gained valuable insights on the subject. The event was successfully coordinated by Ms Manisha Saini, Ms Manisha Khanduja, Ms Divya Rawat, and Ms Nisha Rana, whose dedicated efforts and meticulous planning ensured the programme’s seamless execution and resounding success. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sh. Vinayak Sharma Swami, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their valuable contributions and presence.
