Event Objectives:
This visit will help students to identify and understand various medicinal plants and their uses.
To raise awareness of the preservation and traditional applications of herbs and medicinal plants, as well as to promote the sustainable use and conservation of plant biodiversity.
Short Description of the Event-
The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, organised a field visit to the Herbal Garden at the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, for the students of Pharmaceutical Sciences on 07 August 2025, as part of the Student Induction Programme 2025. The purpose of the visit was to expose students to various medicinal plants, their identification, uses, and conservation strategies. It also aimed to promote awareness regarding the therapeutic importance of herbs in traditional and modern medicine, and to understand the role of herbal gardens in the conservation of medicinal species.
This visit was conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS. The visit was coordinated by Mrs Shalini Kumari, Assistant Professor, and Mr Akhilesh Nautiyal, Assistant Professor, Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
