The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, organised the Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme – 2025 on 12 August 2025 at 9:30 a.m. on the institute premises, in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) directive dated 22 July 2025 for the observance of Anti-Ragging Day and Week. The programme aimed to create awareness among students regarding anti-ragging regulations, reinforce their responsibility towards maintaining a safe and respectful campus, and align institutional practices with the UGC’s anti-ragging framework.
The inaugural session began with a warm welcome address, followed by remarks from the Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS who emphasised the importance of empathy, mutual respect, and zero tolerance towards ragging. He delivered an informative awareness talk, explaining the legal implications, preventive measures, and disciplinary actions associated with ragging, while also encouraging students to contribute to a healthy campus culture.
All faculty members and students from the senior batches of B.Pharm and M.Pharm took the Anti-Ragging Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to a ragging‑free environment. The event also featured the display of posters and banners across the campus. As part of the programme, a slogan‑writing competition was organised, in which students participated enthusiastically. Students also performed a street play to raise awareness among their peers about anti‑ragging rules and regulations.
