The Eco-club, School of Applied & Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, celebrated Global Earth Day 2025 on 22 April in association with Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. with the theme 'Our Power, Our Planet. This event recalls the initiatives taken by the global alliance to act, think, innovate, and implement measures to safeguard our planet. Along with Bisleri, the Eco-Club has taken the initiative to promote recycling of waste plastic in all forms by collecting it within the campus.
Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Director, SALS, has stressed the fact that all the Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair, Refuse, and Rethink) should be promoted to attain sustainable living & development. On this occasion a quiz competition has also been conducted; winners of the quiz competition and eco-club volunteers were provided with the badge and appreciation certificate.
The event witnessed the active participation of the Eco-Club members and volunteers, namely Ms Priyanka Singh, Mr Rajana Vamsi, Mr PNS. Abhiram, Ms Mahima Mishra, and Ms Ishika Chaudhary. Faculty members Dr Sadhna Awasthi, Coordinator, Eco-club, Dr Rohit Singh Sajwan, Dr Indra Rautela, Ms Asima Imtiyaz, and Dr Pardeep Yadav were also present during the event.
