Educational Tour to Geetanjali Medical Hospital & College, Udaipur & Cultural Heritage of Rajasthan

The students of the School of Liberal Arts embarked on an insightful and enriching journey to Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur, followed by an exploration of Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage from 27th March 2025 to 1st April 2025. This tour aimed to provide a holistic learning experience by combining academic exposure with historical and cultural exploration. 
 
The visit commenced with an academic session at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Udaipur, where psychology students had the opportunity to explore the intricacies of mental health, psychological disorders, and therapeutic interventions. They attended an interactive session conducted by clinical psychologists, which emphasized the growing need for mental health awareness and the role of psychologists in healthcare settings. Additionally, students observed the psychological assessment process, counseling methodologies, and multidisciplinary approaches used in treating mental health conditions.  
 
After an insightful academic session, the students set off on a cultural journey through Rajasthan. They explored the Grand City Palace and Lake Pichola in Udaipur. In Jaipur, the students visited the magnificent Amer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The fort captivated students with its Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), artistic gateways, and panoramic views. Students then visited Hawa Mahal, a visually stunning landmark, and Patrika Gate, which impressed them with its vibrant hand-painted artwork. The journey concluded with a visit to the Brahma Mandir in Pushkar and the serene Pushkar Lake, where students reflected on the spiritual and cultural diversity of India. 
 
The academic and cultural tour to Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital and Rajasthan’s heritage sites provided students with a unique and holistic educational experience. The students were accompanied by Mr. Jageshwar Ray, Mr. Ashutosh Sharma & Ms. Shilpi Prakash, Assistant Professors at SLA.
