On 22 March 2025, Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences organized a vision screening campaign to celebrate World Optometry Day under the theme "Eyes to the Future: Optometry Improving Global Wellness." The event aimed to spread awareness about eye health and provide essential visual screening exclusively for university hostel students. The event was graced with the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, and Dr Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Uttaranchal University.

Bachelor of Optometry students from the II and IV semesters of UCHS actively participated in the campaign, conducting a series of eye tests including visual acuity, color vision test, dry eye test, and slit lamp examination of the dignitaries, performed by the students. Following this, the university hostel students underwent eye examinations, with a total of 30 students benefiting from the tests. The campaign provided valuable insights into common eye conditions and their impact on vision. The participating students also had the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical exposure, enhancing their practical knowledge and skillset in optometric testing.

The event successfully underscored the significance of optometry in promoting eye health awareness among students along with emphasizing the crucial role of optometrists in preventing and managing vision-related issues.
