To promote a spirit of healthy competition among its students, Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM) recently organized Intra-Departmental Indoor Sports Competition on 28 February 2025 under Challengers- The sports club of USHHM. The event was held at the campus, featured an array of mind- and body-engaging games, including Chess and Carrom.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students across various programmes of USHHM, aimed to provide a platform for both seasoned athletes and newcomers to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. It also emphasized the importance of mental agility, strategic thinking, and physical coordination, aligning with USHHM's commitment to holistic development.
The Chess tournament witnessed intense battles of wits as students moved their knights, bishops, and rooks with precision. Carrom boards echoed with the unmistakable "thud" of strikes as participants showcased their exceptional flicking techniques.
Dr Manish Badoni, Director, USHHM, expressed the satisfaction with the event's success. He stated, "We are thrilled to see our students embrace these indoor sports with such enthusiasm. The competition not only helps them to stay physically active but also sharpens their mental health."
