Literary Club, Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, celebrated a vibrant Matribhasha Diwas celebration, on 21 February, 2025, honoring linguistic diversity and the richness of Indian languages. The event aimed to promote cultural awareness, instill a sense of pride in one’s mother tongue, and highlight the importance of preserving India’s multilingual heritage. By celebrating the beauty of regional languages, UIM reinforced the significance of linguistic traditions in shaping cultural identity and fostering unity in diversity. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their creative talents through traditional songs, folk dances, and poetry recitations in multiple languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Punjabi, Marathi, and more. Their heartfelt performances reflected deep appreciation for their native languages, strengthening the bond between language and cultural heritage. Faculty members commended the participants for their dedication and creativity, emphasizing that linguistic diversity is a valuable asset that must be cherished and promoted. A key highlight of the event was the prize distribution ceremony, where Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, felicitated the winners for their exceptional performances, inspiring students to embrace and preserve their linguistic roots. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Navnit Shukla, Assistant Professor, UIM, leaving everyone motivated to uphold and promote their mother tongue.
