The Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT), Uttaranchal University, celebrated the Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav on 11 December 2024, to honor the birth anniversary of the esteemed Tamil poet, writer, journalist, and freedom fighter, Mahakavi Subramania Bharati. The event was graced by Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT, along with faculty members, aimed to highlight the significance of Indian languages and their rich cultural heritage. South Indian students showcased their talents through dance performances, speeches, and singing in Telugu, celebrating the Tamil language and culture. The event concluded with the screening of the Oscar-winning short film, The Elephant Whisperers, celebrating global artistic excellence. This film is significant in Telugu culture as it highlights cinematic storytelling, visual artistry, and universal themes of compassion and nature, showcasing the global contributions of diverse artists. A total of 56 South Indian students, including those from 1st and 2nd-year classes, attended the celebration, making the event a memorable occasion that fostered appreciation for India's linguistic diversity and cultural richness. After the event, a vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Sakshi Koli, the Event Coordinator, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers, and faculty members for their support and contributions to the successful celebration of the event.
