The Diploma Pharmacist Association Uttarakhand, in collaboration with the Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, celebrated World Pharmacist Day on 25 September 2024 with great enthusiasm. The theme of the event was "Pharmacist: Meeting Global Health Needs”. It highlighted pharmacists' vital role in promoting global health and well-being.
The event commenced with a felicitation ceremony, honouring distinguished guests and speakers for their valuable contributions to pharmacy, followed by a Lamp Lighting Ceremony. Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, Uttaranchal University addressed the gathering, appreciating pharmacists' impact on healthcare.
Eminent speakers such as Mrs Sudha Kukreti, President, Diploma Pharmacists Association Uttarakhand; Dr Satish Chandra Pandey, General Secretary, Diploma Pharmacists Association Uttarakhand; Shri Anil Bisht, Shri T R Rauthan, Shri Harish Chandra Uniyal and all DPA members of Uttarakhand shared their insights on the crucial contributions of pharmacists in meeting global health needs.
Students showcased their talents through vibrant cultural activities, including dancing, singing, and speech. Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Director UIPS then addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of such events in fostering professional growth among future pharmacists.
B Pharm I Year students participated in a Poster Presentation, displaying their understanding of pharmacists' role in healthcare. The event concluded with a valedictory session and award distribution ceremony, where the Diploma Pharmacy Association honoured outstanding students. The “Best Student Award” was presented to Pranjal Bisht and Sanskriti Rai, “Cultural Star” was presented to Aman Bhatt, “Sports Star of The Year” presented to Anil Rawat, and “Best Event Coordinator” presented to Shaheen Anjum.
The event was coordinated by Mrs Jyotsana Suyal and Mrs Pallavi Ghildiyal , Assistant Professors UIPS. Dr Nidhi Gairola, HoD, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers.
