An International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Metaverse in Library & Education 5.0 jointly organized by the Knowledge Resource Centre and the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University on 27- 28 September 2024. The conference was sponsored by the Ministry of Defence (DRDO), New Delhi.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University, along with distinguished keynote speakers; Prof (Dr) K P Singh, Director, Gandhi Bhawan, University of Delhi; Mr Michael Baron, CEO, Baron Consulting, Australia; Leigh Griffin, PhD, Senior Engineering Manager, Red Hat, Ireland; and Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice-President, Uttaranchal University. Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University; Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro VC, Uttaranchal University; and Prof (Dr) Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director, Student Affairs & IT Services. In the valedictory session, Dr Priya Rai, Librarian of NLU New Delhi, delivered the keynote address.
The conference welcomed delegates from across the country and abroad, becoming a global platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge. With the objective of expanding the frontiers of knowledge resource centres, over 70 research papers were presented by participants from 12 states and abroad. The sessions were chaired by esteemed experts from various institutions, IITs, NLUs, NCERT, and renowned universities.
The conference targeted the critical challenges and vast opportunities that these transformative technologies present. Through dynamic and insightful discussions, the event catalyzed innovation and efficiency across the sector.
