The School of Liberal Arts conducted its third session of the Knowledge Sharing Series (KSS) on 28 September 2024, an initiative aimed at fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among the faculty members of the department. The series promotes intellectual exchanges within the faculty, enhancing the holistic educational environment at SLA. Mr Ashutosh Sharma, Assistant Professor of Economics, at SLA, delivered a session dedicated to Stolen Artefacts with extensive experience in archaeological preservation and international art repatriation, the speaker provided valuable insights into the complexities of stolen artefacts. Mr Sharma highlighted India's vast cultural heritage, with artefacts dating back thousands of years, including sculptures, paintings, and textiles. The significance of these artefacts in understanding historical narratives was emphasized. After Mr Sharma’s analysis, the session transitioned into an interactive discussion. Faculty members shared their perspectives, the lecture concluded with a call to action for individuals, institutions, and governments to collaborate in combating the theft of cultural artefacts. By fostering a global dialogue and promoting ethical practices in art dealing, stakeholders can work towards preserving the world's cultural heritage for future generations. The session concluded with the consensus that such discussions greatly benefit the academic community by promoting collaborative learning.
