National Nutrition week is being celebrated in Foodtech department of School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun from 10 to 13 September 2024. In the continuation of the event Workshop on “Entrepreneurial Venture” was organized on 10 September 2024. The aim of the event was to create awareness about the nutritious food, which co-relates with the theme of nutrition month, 2024 i.e. “Nutritious Food for Everyone”. This event also aims to find the find entrepreneurs among students and give the wings to their start-up ideas and gave a platform to exchange ideas and innovations. The workshop started with the lamp lighting ceremony in the graceful presence of the Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, the Pro Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna and the Director, SALS Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh. Thereafter, all the delegates visited the stall and encouraged students with their words and valuable feedback. In the event a total of 22 teams participated from the different departments of University. Various value-added food products namely; Ragimomos, carrot payasam, sabutdanatikki, multigrain ladoos, ragi chat, and banana bread etc were prepared by the participants which were also evaluated for their consumer acceptability and sensory properties by judges. At the end of the event the participants were appreciated by all the dignitaries for their highly innovative recipe ideas and enthusiastic participation in the event. Events are being organised with the coordination of Mr Yogesh Awasthi, Dr Pooja Yadav, Dr Pinku Nath, Dr Kanika, Mr Junaid, Mr Kamran etc.
