Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences Organized Orientation cum Induction Programme (Diksharambh-2023)

Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences organized the Orientation cum Induction Programme (Diksharambh-2023) from 16 August 2023 to 25 August 2023 to welcome the new batch of students. The program was graced with the presence of Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor, Prof Satbir Singh Sehgal, Vice-President, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Dr Kartikey, Joint Registrar & Director, UCHS, who welcomed the new students with their words of wisdom. Principal, UCHS acquainted the students with the  the College of h Sciences. The event featured a series of engaging activities, including a welcome speech and dance performance. 

The program continued with a focused orientation, including visits to laboratories, hospitals, and a campus tour, allowing students to explore major departments and essential areas. An introductory session in basic health sciences laid a strong academic foundation, while an anti-ragging lecture fostered a safe, supportive atmosphere. Sessions on the examination system, communication skills, and the responsibilities of healthcare professionals clarified academic standards. A personality development session prepared students for professional growth, and a medical law and ethics session emphasized the legal and ethical obligations of healthcare providers. The research introduction aimed to instill a scientific perspective essential for health sciences advancement. The library and ERP system were introduced, with an emphasis on utilizing digital tools for research. To balance academics, extracurricular activities like cultural events, sports, and a trip to FRI fostered teamwork and encouraged a healthy work-life balance. The program concluded with a Q&A session to address students' questions and provide further support. 

Overall, the orientation program was a success, equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and motivation to embark on their academic journey. The event was coordinated by faculty members under the guidance of Dr Kartikey, Joint Registrar and Director, UCHS.
