The transition from school to college is seen as a challenging phase for students. To aid this transition, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS) organized an Induction Program on August 25, 2023. This program aimed to provide freshers of BCA, MCA and BSc (IT) with a thorough introduction to various aspects of their upcoming journey, including academics, extracurriculars, and administration. 


The occasion was enhanced by the presence of Chief Guest Honorable Chancellor, Shri Jitendra Joshi Ji, the Vice President Prof. (Dr.) Satbir S Sehgal, the Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, guest Mr. Vijendra Chauhan, CEO Evon Technologies, the Dean of Students Welfare Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar, Mr. Iqbal Singh Sawhney, Head of CRC and Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma, Dean USCS. 

The proceedings commenced with a concise inaugural ceremony, followed by the acknowledgment, and honoring of the distinguished guests. 

In her address, Dean Professor (Dr.) Sonal Sharma stressed the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and a broader worldview, enabling students to tackle a changing world. A concise overview of the institutional hierarchy and the university's organizational structure was provided by Prof. (Dr.) Shravan Kumar. 


In conjunction with the Induction program, a guest lecture was also conducted on “Recent Trends in Information Technology” by expert speaker Mr. Vijendra Chauhan CEO, Evon Technology. During the Induction program, students were informed about various verticals of academics including ERP, Faculty Roles, Examination Cell, Discipline Committee, Anti-ragging Committee, Clubs & Cells, NSS and NCC, MOOC, and Sports.  


As the event neared its end, the MOCs – Mr. Abhishek Pathak Head- Academics and Non-Academics Events, Mr. Harshit Gupta, and Ms. Divya Rawat – conveyed their appreciation. The seamless event coordination was overseen by Ms. Manisha Saini and Ms. Manisha Khanduja, with support from dedicated student volunteers and technical staff.
