Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University organized a seminar on “Social Work Interventions to Empower Youth for a Brighter Future” by Mr Vinayak S. Swami, President JAI -Youth Wing Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti on 16 August 2024 for the first-year students with the aim to explore and discuss effective social work strategies.
The event commenced with a warm welcome, followed by the honouring of the guest by Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS. He stressed the importance of social work, noting that it benefits the community while also fostering students' personal and professional growth.
Mr Swami shared how social service can enrich students' learning experiences. He highlighted the significant work of their NGO over the past decade. He encouraged students to volunteer and mentioned the available internship opportunities. The NGO focuses on various initiatives such as plantation drives, Shikshadaan, Shramdaan, social internships, Srijan, awareness campaigns, women’s hygiene camps, and marathons.
The event was successfully coordinated by Ms Manisha Saini with the support of Ms Manisha Khanduja, Mr Harshit Gupta, Ms Divya Rawat, volunteer students and technical staff.
