In an initiative to enhance practical learning, the students at the School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University embarked on an educational visit to the ONGC Museum in Dehradun. This visit was organized for first-year students of B Sc Mathematics, Microbiology, Data Science & M.Sc. Dr Atma Nand and Dr Monika Singh accompanied the students to ensure the success of the visit. The journey began with a flag-off ceremony by Prof Ajay Singh, Director, SALS and Prof V K Srivastava, who encouraged the students to make the most of learning opportunity.
Upon arrival at the ONGC Museum, the students were welcomed by the museum staff, who introduced them to the vast world of oil exploration and production. The museum offered the students an in-depth look at the technologies and processes that drive the energy industry.
Scientists at the museum provided detailed explanations of the exhibits, covering topics such as geology of petroleum, technological advancements in drilling, and environmental considerations in oil extraction. The interactive sessions allowed the students to ask questions and engage directly with the experts, making the experience both educational and inspiring.
The visit broadened the students understanding of the subject matter and highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge in addressing everyday challenges. This educational tour marks a significant step in SALS commitment to provide experiential learning opportunities for their students, fostering a deeper connection between theoretical studies and industrial knowledge.
