The event was conducted under the guidance of Director UIPS, Prof. (Dr.) Vikash Jakhmola. The session began with a welcome address highlighting the growing global threat of AMR and the responsibility of pharmacy students and healthcare learners in promoting rational antibiotic use. An expert guest speaker Dr Manik Rana, orthopedic surgeon, Graphic Era Hospital, Dehradun, delivered an insightful talk on the causes, consequences, and prevention strategies related to antimicrobial resistance.

The speaker emphasized the misuse and overuse of antibiotics, the importance of prescription adherence, infection prevention, and the role of future pharmacists in antibiotic stewardship. The session was interactive, with students actively engaging in discussion and clarifying their doubts regarding AMR, antibiotic policies, and responsible healthcare practices. Overall, the event successfully strengthened awareness about antimicrobial resistance and reinforced the importance of rational antibiotic use among future healthcare professionals.
