Uttaranchal University and Indian Scout Guide Fellowship came together for tree plantation

A tree plantation program was organized under the joint aegis of the Indian Scout Guide Fellowship and Uttaranchal University on 17 July 2024. Mr Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Dr Daljit Kaur, President, Scout and Guide Fellowship of Uttarakhand, Mr Rajiv Sharma, Secretary Scout and Guide Fellowship, inaugurated the program by planting saplings.

Mr Joshi said that tree plantation is being done by the university not only on the university campus but also in the five villages adopted by the university on Harela. The teachers and students of the university are taking forward this tree plantation drive with the help of Panchayat representatives. He said that joining the Indian Scout and Guide Fellowship has given momentum to this campaign.
Dr Daljit Kaur said that the volunteers associated with the state Scout and Guide are participating enthusiastically in the Harela Mahaparva. He said that finding vacant land for tree plantation is a challenge while nurturing the trees is an even bigger challenge.
On this occasion, a large number of volunteers including Dr Poonam Rawat, Lt Nitin Duklan, Arjun Sirohi, Harjit Kaur Tina Arya were present.
