Workshop on “Career in Data Science”

On 22 March 2024, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences (USCS) organized a workshop on “Career in Data Science” for the students of MCA, BCA and B Sc (IT). The objective of the workshop was to define the role of data science in modern industries and its significance in decision-making processes. The expert speaker at the event was Mr. Uttam Grade, Senior Data Analyst at Accenture. 

Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Dean USCS and Dr. Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD USCS also graced the occasion with their presence.  

The event began with the felicitation of guests by Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Dean, USCS. She emphasized the importance of data quality and preprocessing for accurate analysis. She encouraged students to delve into the intricacies of data manipulation, analysis, and interpretation, skills that are in high demand across various industries. 

The expert Mr Uttam Grade provided participants with a solid foundation in the concepts of data science and practical skills essential for analyzing and interpreting data. He demonstrated the application of data science in various domains, such as healthcare, finance, and marketing. The event concluded with certificate distribution to all the participants. Under the guidance of Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, the workshop was successfully coordinated by Mr Abhishek Kumar Pathak with the support of volunteer students.
