Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences organized the “National workshop on Intellectual Property Rights as a Strategic Tool for Start-ups and Innovators (Hybrid mode), sponsored by Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) on 7 March 2024.  

Shri Jitendra Joshi, Chancellor and Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, felicitated the Chief Guest Prof (Dr) S P Singh, Former Vice- Chancellor, HNBGU and the Guest of honour Prof (Dr) M P S Bisht with a memento as a token of gratitude.  

The inaugural ceremony was honored by the presence of the keynote Speakers Mr Himanshu Goel, Scientist B, UCOST and Dr Ramesh Chandra Panada, Founder WeGrow Pvt Ltd, alongwith Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director-Student Affairs & IT Services, Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma Dean, USCS & Convener, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Singh Director, R&I, Prof (Dr) Anita Gehlot, Head, R&I, Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS & Co-Convener, Dr Meera Sharma, Co-Convener and Mr Abhishek Pathak, organizing Secretary. 

Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries and expressed enthusiasm about the workshop, stating, "Intellectual property rights are invaluable assets for start-ups and innovators. Prof (Dr) M P S Bisht, encouraged all participants to come forward with their innovative ideas, joining hands in the country’s overall entrepreneurial development 

The Chief Guest, Prof (Dr) S P Singh emphasized that the firms could enhance their competitive edge, draw on investment, and unearth fresh pathways for expansion through the utilization of IPR. Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi encouraged the young participants in the workshop to gain insights into IPR.  

The Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi Ji stated that IPR enhances business ideas and Uttaranchal University takes extensive efforts to remain at pinnacle in IPR. 

Keynote Speakers of the workshop emphasized promoting innovative ideas by the students. The session gave wide knowledge of trademark, patent, copyrights etc. encouraging the creative minds to come to reality.
