On March 8, 2024, Uttaranchal
University proudly honored international bodybuilder Pratibha Thapliyal with the “Uttaranchal
Nari Shakti Samman” during a magnificent ceremony held at the Swami
Vivekananda Auditorium to commemorate International Women's Day. Mrs. Anuradha
Joshi, Vice Chairperson of the University's Governing Committee, graced the
occasion as the chief guest. The event was orchestrated by the university's
women's cell.
"Pratibha, the daughter of
Uttarakhand, has engraved Uttarakhand's name on the global stage with her
remarkable talent," remarked Mrs. Anuradha Joshi.
Chancellor of the University,
Shri Jitender Joshi said that “Uttaranchal
Nari Shakti Samman” is given to those women of Uttarakhand who have made
special achievements in their field and whose work has become an incomparable
example in paving the way for women's upliftment. Pratibha Thapliyal has proved her mettle in national, Asian and
international level competitions in the field of body building.
We are proud that Pratibha is an
MBA student of Uttaranchal University. Furthermore,
Chancellor Sh. Jitender Joshi declared that Uttaranchal University would not
only cover her educational expenses but also the significant costs associated
with her preparation for national and international level competitions.
Mrs. Pratibha Thapliyal said that
receiving ‘Uttaranchal Nari Shakti
Samman’ is the proudest moment for her. She said,” I am proud to be the student of Uttaranchal University.” In her
message she said that fitness is a lifelong companion of a person and it’s
crucial to prioritize our fitness as the first priority.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dharam
Buddhi and the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rajesh Bahuguna lauded Pratibha's
unparalleled achievements and extended heartfelt felicitations to her.
