Law College Dehradun organizes “Project RAAHAT”, ‘A Winter clothes Donation Drive under the aegis of Rotaract Club on 8 February 2024, with the primary objective to ameliorate the hardships endured by vulnerable demographics through the collection and distribution of essential winter clothing items.
Rotaract Club extended its benevolent outreach near Sundarban Bhauwala Rd, Baronwala, Bhauwala, Uttarakhand. The initiative focused on delivering critical winter provisions, including jackets, sweaters, scarves, and gloves, to those in dire need. The Project facilitated the seamless distribution of approximately 150 garments, benefitting an estimated 30-40 individuals encompassing homeless populations, low-income families, and marginalized communities. The distribution process was characterized by compassion and respect, upholding the dignity and well-being of each recipient.
Beyond the tangible provisions, Project Raahat served as a beacon of hope amidst winter's harsh realities. The bestowal of warmth and comfort not only assuaged physical discomfort but also fostered a sense of security and inclusion among recipients grappling with adversity. The success of the Winter Cloth Donation Drive epitomized the transformative potential of collective action. Through the harmonious convergence of donor generosity, volunteer commitment, and recipient resilience, numerous lives were positively impacted. This synergy underscores the potency of communal solidarity in effectuating meaningful societal change.
The successful realization of Project Raahat owes gratitude to the concerted efforts of a dedicated team comprising 32 members under the adept leadership of Mr Amit Chaudhary, Chairperson of the Club. Special appreciation is extended to esteemed figures including Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro VC, UU, Dr. Poonam Rawat, Principal, LCD, and Mr Abhiranjan Dixit, Asst. Professor, LCD, whose guidance and support were instrumental in facilitating the event's fruition.
