Law College Dehradun faculty of Uttaranchal University organized the 5th edition of National Model United Nations and Youth Parliament 2023 (LCDMUN 5.0) on 14 & 15 October 2023, under the aegis of Youth Parliament Society, in collaboration with UNIC for India and Bhutan, G20, Y20, Ministry of Youth Affairs, UNDP and CPPGG; with knowledge partner being SCC Online and EBC. The event had 7 committees namely AIPPM (All India Political Parties Meet), UKLA (Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly), LOK SABHA, UNGA-DISEC (United Nations General Assembly), UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council), G-20 and Indian/International Press. The event aimed at contemplating the National and International matters prevalent in the society and deliberating them to reach out to distinct solutions for the same.
(Prof.) Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean, Law College Dehradun and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Uttaranchal University in the inaugural ceremony, introduced the Chief Guest of the day Hon’ble Chief Shri Naresh Bansal, Member of Parliament to the audience wherein he enlightened the audiences with his wisdom. Following this the Secretary General of the event Mr. Shubham Kashyap formally declared the LCDMUN 5.0 open. It was quite eminent in the sessions that how the young minds were head on in expressing their views and providing ideas for the benefit and development of the society. The valedictory ceremony was presided by Colonel Mr. Ajay Kothiyal, who congratulated the participants and motivated them to participate in future events.The event witnessed participation of students from around 50 Universities across the nation.
