The International Conference on "Functionality of Food Components and Emerging Technologies in Life Sciences for Sustainability (ICFCETS-2023)" was inaugurated by Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor, Prof (Dr) S S Sehgal, Vice- President, Dr Sarita Srivastva, Professor, GBPUAT Pantnagar, Mr. Gama Shankar, Industry Expert, G M Anchal Dairy and Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean and convenor of the conference by lighting an auspicious lamp.
Prof Ajay Singh, Dean, Sciences & Research briefed about the objectives of the conference in his welcome address. Prof S S Sehgal, Vice-President addressed the audience, emphasising the importance of food components.
The Keynote Speaker, Prof Sarita Srivastava, GBPUAT Pantnagar discussed recent advancements and innovations in small millets. Prof. Arun Bhat, GBPIET, Ghurdauri, Pauri, Dr Deblina Biswas, NIT, Jalandhar Punjab, Dr Adeniyi, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, Mr. Gama Shankar, Industry Expert, GM Anchal Dairy and Dr Swarup, LPU also discussed the recent techniques in food technology and role of edible packaging.
The valediction ceremony of the conference commenced with the welcome of Guest Speakers Dr Ayon Tarafdar, Scientist ICAR, and Dr Shuchi Upadhayay, Associate Professor, UPES, followed by the address of our online guest speaker Dr Kanupriya, Assistant Professor, Sharda University, Dr Ashok Kumar Pathera, Assistant Professor, Amity University, Noida, Dr Harsh Kumar, University of Hradee, Europe. After this, the two technical sessions were held which included oral & poster presentations coordinated by Dr. Nalini, Mrs, Sweety Bharti, Er. Junaid & Mr Kamran.
The names of position holders of oral & poster presentations were announced & felicitated by presenting winning trophies followed by appreciating the conference committee members Dr. Kanika Dulta, Er Junaid Aman, Mr Yogesh Kumar Awasthi, Mrs Sweety Bharti, Dr Nalini Trivedi, Ms Nandini Panwar and Dr Kiran Verma by presenting the mementos. The session was concluded by a vote of thanks proposed by Ms Nandini Panwar.
