Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organized a webinar on “Employability skills” dated 29th September in UIM Seminar Hall. The guest speaker of this event was Mr. Ujjwal Kumar (MBA Batch 2012-14), an alumnus of UIM. Presently he is working as an HR Manager in Randstad Pvt. Ltd. The programme started with the students gathering in their respective classes. Thereafter, Prof. (Dr.) Pardeep Suri, Dean UIM, welcomed the guest speaker of the webinar. Mr. Ujjwal threw light on how to prepare a great resume, as a resume is the first impression on the employer. What kind of employee does an employer think he wants? He expressed his views regarding this also. One valuable thing that he told from his bag of experience is that a student must keep his soft skills strong, as it is the most significant need of the hour. He said that today's era is the era of social media. And the students have to stay safe from the double-edged sword. Such advice was given to the students to never share any controversial posts on social media. Every aspect of yours is being noticed by the employer.
Further, he highlighted the Target- Goal- Mission- vision for human resources in today's market situation. He emphasized that students should fix their targets for the next 5 years today itself. If you do not do this, the market will force you to do so. He further said that if you have to devote time to social media, then do such work which is beneficial. You can spend your time on sites like Linkedin and Naukri.com.
At last, he crowned his success and made the faculty here wear it. He said UIM is the place where the students can learn, can Grow. In any institution there should be harmony between alumni and present students. They should always be in contact with each other. Due to this, balance is maintained between the internal and external environment. This session was very informative and interactive. The students were very satisfied.
