On 22nd September 2023, Women Cell, School of Liberal Arts organised a Guest Lecture on ‘Women Related Health Issues’ with the primary aim to raise awareness among female students about the significant health-related challenges that often go unnoticed and unaddressed. Women's hectic daily lives sometimes cause them to neglect their well-being. It is of utmost importance that every woman has access to comprehensive information about various women's health conditions. This awareness can facilitate the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices, which are the most effective means of preventing diseases, extending life expectancy, and enhancing overall quality of life.

The session commenced with a warm welcome note graciously delivered by Ms Ritika, compère of the session. It was followed by the ceremonies ‘Kulgeet’ of the University.

The Guest lecturer for the event was Ms Gulshan Attri, Tutor, Uttaranchal College of Nursing specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Ms Attri shared her extensive knowledge and expertise on women's health matters, shedding light on critical issues such as menopause, hormonal imbalance, cervical and ovarian cancer, UTIs, depression, and many more that often go unnoticed but have a significant impact on women's lives. During the event, Ms Attri highlighted important preventive measures for women's health issues such as regular check-ups, a balanced diet, physical activity, and stress management. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session with students, where they had the opportunity to inquire about a wide range of women's health concerns and seek guidance on maintaining their well-being. Ms Gulshan Attri was felicitated with a certificate of appreciation from the School of Liberal Arts.

A vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Malika Payal, member of Women's Cell. The entire event was skilfully coordinated by Ms Malika Payal, under the guidance and support of Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean- SLA.
